A Monotype commission to produce a series of animations to bring some of their most iconic and forgotten fonts to life, show them in a new light, and bring a new generation of designers closer to their extensive library.
A need to make the type exciting, dynamic and inject personality - to make it endearing to designers.
Each font conjured up an instant image in our mind, and imagined how it would come to life, through movement, sound and behaviour. Exploring each individual characteristics through the use of sound design.
The animations have been used internally and packaged with their respected family fonts. It has changed the way that typefaces are talked about - typefaces can be fun! They have been used to promote events and generate interest in the families.
